Is medication clinical misuse?
I would like to refer your health-care service practice, thank you.
Answer: Yes, it is.
Clinical Waste is any waste that can effect harm or pose a threat to humans. This can include such items as human or animal tissue, blood and/or other bodily fluids, excretions, drugs, swabs or dressings.
Syringes and other sharp instruments are usually disposed of in what is call a Sharps Container and treated seperately for safety reasons
Its mostly produced by hospitals, doctors surgeries, vet, rest homes and sometimes private houses and should be disposed of correctly with the ultimate disposal person incineration.
Its not to be confused with Medical Waste which is not incinerated but landfilled. This includes such items as nappies, sanitary waste and incontinence pad.
I used to work for a waste management company and within are very strict guidelines in place for this sort of leftovers which are drummed into you daily as the fines for incorrect disposal are very lofty!
Hope this helps!.
