My piercing is still a bit red, and it seems to be sticking to my belly ring at the top hole. Is this normal?

For the first month or so of any different piercing it pretty much qualifies as an open wound; if something get's into your piercing it's contained by your blood stream and no ammount of
cleaning's going to undo that.

There's a ridiculous ammount of bacteria within swimming pools and all the chlorine's going to do is delay the health-giving process

Covering it's not going to help, the water's going to get surrounded by there no matter what

There's a defence you don't swim while a piercing's healing, it's a pretty surefire way to attain an infection

It's perfectly normal for it to stick a touch; sea salt soaks should lend a hand

Give it another 5 weeks and it'll be fine to swim

Edit: Someone reccomended alcohol and peroxide. Don't! All they do is prevent it from healing and kill the cell that're trying to fight infection. Piercings should only ever be cleaned next to sea salt solution

Make sure you keep hold of cleaning it with alcohol and peroxide at least 2-3 times a hours of daylight and after each time you shower. It should take a accurate 4 weeks to truly heal and you should be fine with swimming.
