sorry to hear more or less ur knee... but i really do think that u have need of to go back to ur doctor...u may hold reinjured whatever was corrected by the inital surgery.
and believe me giving up do for a while now is much better then trying to push through and twirl up having to give up spring FOREVER...
I do know how frustrating it can be to have to sit on the sidelines so to speak. I injured my knee surrounded by June of 07 playing beach volleyball... had an MRI which showed a "minor scratch in my MCL... ortho sent me to PT and then after 2 months of little progress sent me for another MRI(same thing)... so i be given first of three cortisone injections(to control the swelling, cause my knee be still swelling pretty badly...3 months later)... i at that time convinced the doc to clear me for cheerleading(competitive)... he did but only for jump and stunts(NO TUMBLING)... i had to continue next to PT, and follow up with him every 4-6 weeks... my knee continued to swell and be especially painful(but i was convinced that it wasnt from cheerleading but from working too hard... im a CNA, and work anywhere from 8-16 hrs a light of day ON MY FEET)... PT continued as well as the injections unitl December when he mentioned doing a scope "to see if the MRIs missed anything" since it have been 6 months and i was still have nasty pain(with jumping and cutting) and some swelling(finally have come under control)... but the competition season was getting robust so i ipted to give PT one more shot... when within January i had reached my peak(stopped progressing near ROM gain/ strength was almost back to normal) the dr. said that within feb. i was going to consult with the surgeon(which i be like ok cause i have a 8 wk break in competition) so feb. came and i be yet again convinced to go stern to PT but with phono(liquid cortisone via ultrasound) with a followup planned in March...
well 3 days since my appointment. my knee collasped and when it did i felt something rip inwardly my knee and it swelled horribly and immediatly, my knee be also very unstable and i was inept to bear weight because my knees felt as though it was gonna plummet apart... long story short i went to the ER was placed contained by an immobolizer and on crutches(here we go again)... went to my appointment have a third MRI... was sent to a specialist... lost almost all ROM... and am presently back in PT trying to regain some ROM until that time having to have surgery... NO NATIONALS this year and possible NO CHEERLEADING subsequent season...
sorry its so long but since u said that ur knee gave out i really do deduce that u need to see ur doc again.
u could have retorn ur ligaments...within the meantime keep ur knee elevated and iced and stay past its sell-by date it
How can my doctor determine if I hold a pinched guts surrounded by my posterior?
All I know is to ice and rest.Talk to a sports Dr.Maybe they can give you suggestions better than anyone on here. What form of surgery did you have? Was it for the discs of cartilage in your knees, or for the muscles and tendons that surround and support the knee? If it was for cartilage (left or right, same knee), next you may have injured the remaining one. In that case, every time you move your leg you are grinding bone against bone beside no protective cushion whatsoever, and you are probably looking at years of excruciating pain until you finally opt for a total knee replacement. And you won't be dance.
If it was to repair one or several of the many huge, defining muscles that stabilize the knee, then you may hold re-injured the muscle at the surgical site, or you could have injured new ones within an effort to reduce the strain on the surgical one. In this casing, if you refuse to acknowledge the seriousness of this problem and continue making the muscle(s) do things they're within no condition to do, you may be looking at more surgery, more serious surgery that could restrict the range of motion in your knees to nil. And you won't be dancing.
You need to facade facts. Your knee has already be injured once, and subjected to surgical invasion. If you don't seek help immediately, even though you will miss out on today's dancing opportunities, you may put yourself contained by the position of missing out on dancing opportunities for the rest of your energy.
