Microfracture surgery... return to big inpact sports...?

I may have to be having microfracture done to my patella within 3 weeks, i was wondering if anyone knew how long the rescue was, and when i would be able to return to competitive cheerleading?
The season starts surrounded by August but i would need to be able to skip and stunt by the beginning of October. Tumbling would be great but not necessary at that time...

I plan on asking my doc these question too, but was wondering if any one has have this experience and could share their stories... thanx

Also, my doc thinks i may have a torn ACL as all right... and if that is the case i know that rescue would be much longer but i wont know for sure until i go back surrounded by 3 weeks...

here are my symptoms:
*swelling
*instability in knee(knee feels as though it may buckle again)
*max ROM 75*(after that knees feels like its gonna pop strange...and "locks" up)
*tenderness around patella and along medial aspect of knee
*inability to bear shipment without immobolizer on
thanks again

Headaches!! I am really worried.?

With any of those surgeries you are looking at a MINIMUM of 6 months for return to sport. There is a better chance that if you only hold ACL reconstruction surgery that you would get backbone to cheerleading in 6 months. The microfracture surgery can work but has more flexibility to it in regards to returning to a elevated level of sports. There are several Professional athletes who have have the microfracture surgery and are playing just fine, but its not as sure a thing as a short time ago having ACL reconstruction (not to read out that ACL surgery is a 100% sure thing). Best of luck with things and put a lot of physical exertion into your physical therapy after!

Which medication would be safer?
