Mobility when you suffer from hip displacement and find it difficult to walk long distances
Answer: sometimes a walker can help a lot. especialy the rollators they have now with the seats since you can sit when you need to and they are easy to get around in.
There's also the option of a wheelchair but sometimes that can cause more pain and issues with your legs if it is just a standard wheelchair. I had to use a wheelchair once that was standard and it causes me to get Bursitis in my hips. Now I have a lightweight wheelchair with a good thick cushion so it's much better.
Anyways, there is also the option of a scooter. Many come in compact style that can be collpased to be places in a car and that can help with the distance part. The con is keep up muscle strength so that you do not loose that from using a wheelchair/scooter so often.
Like me, maybe several options are best. I use lightweight forearm crutches once in awhile, my rollator or my manual chair. If i cant use any of those, I use my scooter depending on how much work I need to do outside involving walking. But my joints are in bad shape.. and i have a lot of pain.. Im not sure how hip displacement affects the body movement.
It's best to talk to a PT about this issue they can help loads with what you could best use while maintaining your mobility. .
