My 9 year old had swallowed a penny and he said it was in the middle of his throat but i think it went down
Answer: ive heard of someone swallowing a quarter and it passed but to be sure i would go and get your nine year old xrayed and make sure everything looks okay but the doctor will probably tell you that i will just pass. good luck!.
swallowing anything can be scary, but something small and round like a penny should go through the digestive tract just fine. Sometimes it can feel like something is caught in your throat, but it rarely actually is. as long as he is breathing and speaking normally, there probably isnt anything to worry about as far as that is concerned. if your son is upset about this, have him drink some water to flush it out and reassure him that he is going to be just fine. he's definitely not the first person to swallow small change. =]
pennies probably wont present a gastrointestinal problem either. the penny will most likely go right through him just as any other ingested material would, but if you're nervous about it, you can always check for it when he goes to the bathroom.
if you think it's causing him persistent pain or breathing complications, head over to a clinic to get him checked out.
don't worry, people survive this all the time.
good luck! .
Go to the doctors. Take an X- Ray test and see if its in his throat. but then if its not and its in his stomach then he could do #2 to get it out or if he can't then your gonna have to take him to the hospital as do surgery to get it out because it could get caught in your intestine and it would hurt a lot. so i hope he feels better!xoxo jen You need to go to ER. They need to do xrays to check the location. THen they just need to keep monitoring and continue to do xrays to see if the coin is moving and hopefully pass the body. If the coin stops moving then they have to proceed with surgery. .
if he can make noises including talking then he isnt currently choking.
