My finger won't stop bleeding.?
I have put pressure on it and elevated it. It has be over a hour and it is still bleeding. I cut it on a knife when i was reaching for something. its around 1cm cavernous. Is there any way i can stop the bleeding at home in need going to the ER?

Answer: You have done what you should to try and stop the bleeding but I'm sorry to read out you may need to get it stitched up because you could hold cut an artery and it will continue to bleed. Don't just focus about the bleeding also remember it could become infected..
1cm sounds quite cavernous, you may need stitches. Keep applying pressure and keep elevated. It may stop after some time, I wouldn't run it beneath a tap as I find that can prevent clotting.

Butterfly it shut!! What I be going to is squeeze the opening shut, then wrap pressure cassette around it if you can! Your best bet though is going to the doctor. you could be losing a lot of blood. you will also start to get dizzy, from losing blood. Do you hold any diseases that you are aware of? if you don't perhaps i guess go to a doctor or something, but if you do hold a disease you may have hemophilia but other that that you should go to a doctor..
