I'm 46 and my doctor is telling me i need my right hip replaced.He say normally your too young but since the affliction is severe and there's no cartilage left he can recommend it be done.He's in favor of replacement over resurfacing because it closing longer but i'm thinking resurfacing might buy me some time incase there's a better alternative down the road.Has anyone had hip resurfacing and how did it work out.what made you decide this path.thankyou for your input.

hi there in 27 and newly had my right hip done 2 weeks ago (HIP REPLACEMENT) . I spoke to 2 orthopaedic at 2 uni,s in Australia . Now the cargo in The resurfacing dosent last and can be prone to crack contained by surgery and all infection . OK hip replacements well i be aware of OK and I'm not walking yet to well but within 6 to 10 weeks brand new. but they last 15 years and some times 20 if your lucky . its up to you i weigh it up and went wit the replacement

Replacement is the smart thing to do at the present time, because the hips have been steadily better and there are new technique like the anterior procedure, where they don't hold to cut your butt muscles. Resurfacing is risky! Go bionic.
