Occasional Hearing Loss?

I occasionally have hearing loss (this last for days) in my right ear. Everything sounds muffled and I can only hear some low frequencies. I've tried cleaning out my ear and that doesn't appear to help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm also 20 years outdated and I listen to music at low volumes (speaking) so I doubt that's it.

Answer:    If you have trouble with allergies and/or congestion, the eustachian tube can close up and sometimes mucus can find trapped in your ears. And if the fluid is not infected, you may not suffer from ear pain but diminished audible range.

When you eustacian tube finally opens up again, then the fluid drains backbone down again allowing you to hear. This can take minutes to days.

If you know what you are allergic to, avoidance is the key. Dust normally for dust is a common allergen. And a 24-hour allergy medication and/or nasal spray(aval. by prescription such as flonas, nasonax) may help.

Don't know eustacian tube dysfunction may be the baggage for you as it is in my family who seem to get the same come and jump hearing loss as you describe. I hope this helps..
When I own really bad sinus trouble it affects my right ear, and I can't hear very ably out of it - but I wouldn't say it is hearing loss.

I infer you should see an ear doctor (otologist).

Good luck!.
Instead of asking us you should probably see a professional and get it sorted
