Oxycodone following surgery...?
Yesterday I had a Lefort I Osteotomy (upper jaw surgery, the surgeon made an incision above my upper teeth/under my upper lip and worked beside my jaw bones...)
Today I was prescribed a few meds, oxycodone one one of them, and it says I should take solely when needed. I am in a little bit of dull pain, but nothing too too severe. It's mostly discomfort. I can't tell when I should appropriate this as I heard it's a very strong sedative... if I feel pain up to that time bed would it be best to take it before I travel to bed, or? Does it have to be severe pain for me to run it, or just general affliction? I hate sleeping when it's not nighttime and I heard oxycodone also make you sleepy/groggy...
Answer: OK. first of all we are NOT doctors so this is just proposal. that being said.. I have have dental surgery and hand surgery and you are supposed to take spasm killers before it get bad. My bottles even said that if you wait til it hurts impossible it won't help as much. I agree to that! when I had carpel tunnel surgery I wait and I thought I was going to die. for the first couple of days take it on diary. if it says every six hours as needed..take it EVERY six. nonspecific pain is good.severe dull pain means you waited method too long. and yeah it makes you sleepy and groggy... in reality when I am in pain it knock me on my rear end. if you enjoy to choose between pain and sleeping in the light of day time. take the pill and sleep! if you fight the grogginess you can bring through it. I took an oxycodone an hour ago... I am sleepy but OK.
Good luck..and remember..take it right on schedule the first few days! whether or NOT you entail it. If you wait til it hurts too bad you will REALLY regret it. I would also do stuff for swelling resembling an ice pack or a package of frozen peas on your obverse..after the swelling is gone heat is good..but as long as you hold any swelling you need cool...20 minutes on.. then at lowest possible 20 off.
good luck!
Please, Please, Please oblige me! I broke my wrist and...?
