Pain Tenderness Under Right Breast And Upper Rib Area

First I am a male and I am 24. I have headache and tenderness under my right breast and upper right ribs. It basically hurts when I touch it. I haven't experienced any recent trauma or injury. It doesn't hurt any one time more than another. It sometimes hurts with movement. I can breathe deep and not be aware of pain. I am just seeing if anyone know, if this is internal or muscle, ribs, cartilage, etc. The doc did a blood, urine, x-ray and says it's muscle told me to take Ibuprofen but it's be over 3 weeks now and no relief. Any relieve is appreciated.

Answer:    I went back to read adjectives your health-related questions, and it sounds as if you've had discomfort for over five months. Since I'm not sure exactly what the physician ruled out, please read the following suggestions.

1. Hiatal hernia http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hiatal-...
2. GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). An inflamed esophagus can create discomfort and tenderness throughout the entire chest areahttp://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gerd/DS...
3. Costochondritis. Costo = rib; chondr = cartilage; itis = inflammation. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/costoch...
4. Pleurisy. The double inside layer of the lungs normally moves smoothly. If it becomes inflamed, it can hurt. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pleuris...
5. Cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation) misery can "refer" to the areas you mention. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders... So can cholelithiasis, or gallstones. Stones can block the bile ducts http://www.medterms.com/images/gallstone... and cause incredible pain.
6. Pancreatitis http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pancrea... Please read this wisely, as you've also mentioned discomfort after drinking beer. Normally, bloodwork would help diagnose this.
7. The thoracic vertebrae http://ceres.cals.ncsu.edu/spinal-cord/s... contain nerves which lead to the chest muscles. Overstimulation or compression of these nerves can raison d`¨ētre pain in the areas you mention http://cedarparkchiro.com/images/Autonom...
8. If you hold had chickenpox, please read about shingles (herpes zoster) http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/shingle... Sometimes the disastrous pain of shingles can be present without the impulsive.

If you have not seen a gastroenterologist, you may aspiration to do so. You mention you were diagnosed with IBS, which can undisputed cause pain to "refer" to the areas you mention.

You may also preference to talk to a chiropractor. Your Question caught my attention because I too had discomfort contained by the area you mention for about 6 months. It feel as if someone were kicking and pounding on my ribs and back. After chiropractic treatment, and a diagnosis of GERD, the throbbing resolved. It reoccurs occasionally but my chiropractor taught me how to "pop" my thoracic vertebrae and it always help.

I hope the above information has been productive. It's always frustrating to be on "the doctor train" when you have strain and no source can be found. .
This may be a far-reaching idea but...what more or less your gallbladder, pancreas, biliary tract area? I had torment similar to yours though the deep breathing caused dull pain. I'd see a gastroenterologist or ask your doc to check that out. There are a variety of tests they can do. The HIDA scan be the best one for me. It really proved that everything was functioning ok. Turned out the pain come from a little tube in the biliary tree that can spasm up...vastly odd.

Anyway, I hope you feel better and bring back some answers!
