Potentially broken toe?
The toe beside my big toe had a large board book drop on it this morning -and if you don't know how much that hurts you've never have kids!
Now the lower/middle joint is turning that icky black colour that breaks tend to turn (or at least my finger did when I broke it). Its not bending properly but it will bend somewhat. It isn't that sore when walking.
What do you think? Worth getting x-rays? Worth taping it to the toe beside it or splinting it myself? Just give it alone?
I've only ever broken a baby toe formerly and I know that they don't do anything with.
Answer: If your toe is broken, there's no bone showing through the skin and the bones are not clearly misaligned, a doctor will either do nought or "buddy tape" your toe to the toe next to it with some gauze contained by the middle to soak up moisture. Hope it feels better! Rest and ice is what they'd prescribe.

I believe that they usually consent to toes heal by themselves but x-rays would confirm to whether your toe is broken or not. Although, breaks are usually pretty painful, almost to the point that you wouldn't want to put your foot down.So it could basically be badly bruised but if you have coverage, x-rays wouldn't hurt.
If it isn't too sore to totter on then I would say it is probably ok but a short time ago badly bruised. If it gets worse consequently maybe I would either video it or maybe go to the doctors and see what they suggest.
