I have debilitating chronic sciatic backache for over 10 years now so I can definitely relate to what you're going through. Often sciatic throbbing subsides after so many days or weeks. You can do mild stretches to help relieve the pressure. Apply some fry or ice for about 15 min. at a time. Use what feel the best. If the sciatic pain is worse at night, place a pillow beneath your knees when laying on your back to relieve lower vertebrae pressure. Also place a pillow between your knees when your laying on your side. You can rest but it's best to do as much as possible. If the sciatic pain persist, then see your doctor. You may need some xrays or an MRI to rule out a herniated disk which can rationale sciatic pain. There are medications for sciatic discomfort but they are prescribed by your doctor if you've had the sciatica for quite a long time.

Yes I own had this and still get it if I'm not painstaking. Generally it is better to keep moving as being immobile cause you to seize up and the problem becomes worse.
If you are within severe pain then a BRIEF interval of rest, say 24-48 hrs is recommended but get moving again as soon as you can. Try rime packs against your lower back...10-15 mins every 3 hrs or so for 24 hrs after move on to heat pack. Make sure you don't lie on your stomach in bed as it puts strain on the spine. When sit in a chair, use a firm bench or make sure the lumbar region is well supported near a cushion or rolled up towel. Don't do any bending or lifting over the next few days and avoid any repetitive twisting / pulling / pushing type movements.
Regular painkillers can help while the torment is severe, something such as paracetamol, co-codamol or ibuprofen would be appropriate.
If you develop any numbness or pins and needles down the leg or around the anal area then you inevitability to see a GP urgently or if nothing improves after trying some home attention to detail measures then again, see your doctor.

The lone pain killer that have any effect for me was over the counter Anadin Extra.
There is an 'ignorant' attitude that it is not that bad, and you in recent times want a sickie.

I had pain for masses years.
I did try a chiropractor,didn't do me any good.

I have be making a point of a 5mile walk everyday for some years now, and no Sciatica for some years.
Someone did recount me he 'cured' it by bicycle riding exercise every day.
I do believe it is the muscles that hold your back straight that 'don't' do their profession.

Jobs which involve much sitting on your (a)r$ all day B*gg(a) your stern I believe.
I sat in a bench for many years previous to sciatica, and it is very adjectives with driving jobs.

I know it bl(a)(a)dy hurts so much it puts you on stern and you cant move, but you can be on your back forever.

As soon as you can move, then MOVE even tho the dull pain 'kills' you.

Yes, I have it too. I don't have it adjectives of the time but I wake up with it contained by the morning. I need a new mattress, that should help out. Stretching exercises are recommended by my doctor and putting your weight on the side which is painful. This is unambiguously not easy to do, as the pain is markedly severe. I am afraid to say, it has recur for me over the years. Good luck!
