Should i find a private consultant?
hi, any advice would be great...i recently saw a consultant at HNS hospital and he come across very rude and not really listening to my problems or worries that i have about a certain form issue i have, the doctor i saw before the consultant come across to think i would need a different treatment to my problem but the consultant give the impression of being to be sure he was right and that i should have an operation that he think will solve the problem, but i am not to sure, i feel that the doctor i saw first had a more logical way to go next to this problem, should i just go private and hold a private consultant to check it out? has anyone ever had an experience resembling i have with the NHS consultant man very rude and unwilling to listen to my concerns and thoughts on my problem...hope this makes sense to everyone and any comfort will be v grateful :)
Answer: I think that anytime a doctor is suggesting surgery, you should get a second evaluation. I also think that if you are not comfortable with the doctor consequently you should find on that you are comfortable with. Although, my husbands back surgeon have the WORST bedside manner, but was a brilliant surgeon.
Second opinion NEVER hurt, and if it offends the FIRST opinion, after you don't want to use that person!
