I'm a teacher at the mo, and it is such a difficult job to govern if you aren't feeling your best that I'm not surprised you are feeling this road.If teaching is what you really want to do (and its an ace job so why wouldn't you?!) next yes, I'd say take a year, see a professional, receive your level of meds right and then dance back to your course.
Your health comes first and university understand that so they shouldn't have a problem near it - don't go through your lecturers though, there should be a counselling/advice service attached to your uni and they will know the best route to capture a medical year off.

I know exactly how you feel. I simply finished my 1st year in a Masters program for Education and decided that schooling was something I just couldn't do. I completely changed my principal to nursing and now I'm getting a second bachelors instead of a masters. Find out if how you're feeling is coming from your choice of amount.
