Showering after knees surgery?
My mom had knee surgry yesterday, and the doctor said she could hold a shower tomorrow.
but how do we do it?
she cant sit in a chair because her knees will bend and thats a no no for now.
so any ideas. please!

I had knee surgery when I be 12, and it wasn't allowed to get wet, it have to stay bandaged, etc So my mom actually put me into the bathtub and I have my leg on the ledge of the bathtub. Maybe you can enjoy your dad help get her into the hip bathShe could always go the sponge tub route for now if she thinks it's best. That passageway she can be safe and clean. Hope this help.
To keep the area dry that be operated on, just bear a plastic bag (grocery bag will do) only wrap it around that area and secure to her leg next to some waterproof tape at the top of tha backpack and at the bottom so no water can get to her knees, then she can stand in the shower. We (nurses) do this adjectives the time even for people with IV's

Does she own a brace for it? If she does she should wear it in the shower with a sack or plastic cling wrap around it.If she doesn't, maybe you can invest in a undeveloped brace or splint and cover that. Then she can't bend her knee and will avoid getting the area showery.

You didn't say what kind of knees surgery she had and if there be stitches or staples. With stitches you don't want to get the leg too wet. With staples it's for a while more acceptable. Also did she have orthoscopic surgery or a knees replacement? Either way she should be careful surrounded by the shower as not to fall.What does it perceive similar to to be dignified?
