We've all had scrape and cuts. Sometimes, when you scrape your arm or leg, an extremely thin and somewhat transparent cloak of skin peels off to reveal pinker skin underneath. Although you don't bleed, the nouns is tender to the touch and somewhat sore.

I'm assuming that the layer is the (undamaged) dermis, because as far as I can recall, both the epidermis and the dermis hold to be damaged for bleeding to occur. Is this true, and the pinker division is the dermis?

yes it is new skin but if its deep ample and you start to bleed and you can't see any skin but usually its there! but when you get a leading cut where it rips all the skin bad and you need go to the hospital after the other skin around it will grow over it!
