Sprained thumb, or broken thumb?
At the beginning of June my right thumb got hit really firm with a basketball and it swelled and bruised a little bit. Now it is August 8th and the swelling and bruising is gone, but it still hurts somewhat to bend it in any direction. When I went to my sports physical the doctor said that it might be broken and that i should bring back an X-ray. Wouldn't it hurt worse if it was broken or could it really be broken. Or is it just sprained?
Answer: i am not a medical professional merely a first aider.
better safe and sound than sorry get an x-ray
it could of been broken and if you dont achieve a broken bone seen to it could result in niggle for a long time. Sprain pain should of gone by now unless you continued near basketball.
see a doctor is my non medical opinion. the pain would of reduced as it have been a while therefore here is a chance of a hair flash fracture.
