ever since i hit my boyfriend playing around on his sternum he says whenever he stretches it pops. and he mentioned once he had a bump on his chest where on earth his sternum is and he stretched and it popped and the bump was gone. this was a long time ago i hit him but he have been recently complaining it hurts him. whats going on?

It depends on your age. There are two joint in the sternum and, if you are young, next the joints may not have completely fused. Thus, you may enjoy fractured the sternum at on of those joints. There isn't much you can do except avoid further trauma to the sternum (no more horse-play) and allow it to heal. Tylenol, Naproxen or Ibuprofen may assist the pain, and so might some application of heat.
