Has anyone had surgery for for Crossover Toe or Hammer Toe? and if so how long were you past its sell-by date work for this surgery?

I was told that I would be off work for 6 weeks to repair my toe - it is vastly painful, but I can't take six weeks past its sell-by date work? :o(

dont worry about it
the cost is unreal
you could try tape one toe to the other of a night time
dont put the tape on tight or worse problems could ensue
over a year to 6 months it might start forming
no promises tho
ask a doctor if there is anything can be done besides operation

No glad to report, not yet and hopefully never. I own Rheumatoid Arthritis, so hammer toes are in the adjectives as the disease progresses. However, I only wear shoes with roomy toe areas, so the toes can spread and I now have special orthotics, which should abet prevent this problem. As for the surgery, yes it will be a minim of 6 weeks. Best of Luck
