Thumb misery going down forearm

The muscle under your thumb... i think its call the flexor pollicis brevis hurts badly when i try and bend my thumb backwards. It also hurts to touch that part. The agony goes all the channel down my forearm on the outer side, I really cant think of anything i have done to it but it is swollen pretty discouraging, what could this be? Thank you for your time

Answer:    It is either nerve or muscle damage see your doctor for help. it may be fixable near therapy..
