Training for the NY Marathon - Injury - MRI feedback needed!?

Hi,

I have had a few problems beside my right knee for the past 3-4 months, so I have an MRI scan and I was told that the condition "wasn't that bad". I am supposed to be training for the NY marathon contained by November and I am worried that the results of the scan will put a spanner in the works.

Anyways, any feedback on the following results would really be much appreciated :)

Findings:

Articular cartilage is well-preserved at all 3 compartments.
Axial descriptions 9-12 demonstrate apparent laxity of the medial patellar retinaculum, which appears relatively thinned medially and slightly thicken laterally. The appearance may be related to previous injury with stretching of the retinaculum.

1. No meniscal tear
2. Mild lateral patellar subluxation, unlikely related to minimal fluid signal distention of the lateral pouch of the suprapatellar bursa.
3. Apparent sloppiness of the medial patellar retinalculum may represent sequela of previous capsular strain.

Thanks!

Christopher

I broke my tibia (displaced surrounded by one place) and opt for a style instead of surgery.?

Hi Christopher,

From your MRI report, there's no serious damages to the ligaments or meniscus. What the MRI does show of concern is your slight lateral patellar tracking. That tells me your thigh bone is rotated inward which puts excess strain to your ACL ligament and giving you the pain you grain in your knee. A further nouns at your pelvis would be required to determine why that thigh bone rotated inwards.

Consult with these chiropractors in Manhattan, they'll know to fix your pelvis and thigh bone.
