Vicodin and vomitting
I have been using vicodin once contained by a while to help with my stomach-ache from possible endometriosis. I took some at 11:30 this morning. Slept during the day and didn't eat, and at around 4:30 i started hunch sick. I was dry heaving, had a temp at 95.4 and feel so sick. At that point my pains were coming back so that didn't abet. It is now 7pm and i have be throwing up every 15 or so mins. I have very dim, but my tempature has gone up to 96.5. this has never happen to me before from vicodin. I called my doc at 4 and they said they would hold the nurse call me at around 5.. they never did.. so i called at 6 and still havn't hear from them. Im wondering if i should go into the er.. any ideas?
Answer: Opioid painkillers such as vicodin are coated next to an emetic (emetics induce vomitting) so as to prevent people from using them in elevated dosages for either recreational purposes or in an attempt to commit suicide.
Obviously you're not using the vicodin for any of these reasons, but even proper dosages can still make associates feel sick or even induce vomitting, especially they have a sensitive stomach for commence with. Also, you should ALWAYS take these types of medication next to food - taking them on an empty stomach can cause the symptoms you hold.
However, your symptoms seem especially severe, so if they persist I would unequivocally seek medical care. .
I muse you should go to Urgent Care. Your symptoms sounds like you should be see by a Dr. I'm surprised they didn't call you back. I hope you get the impression better!
