Waht are abd pad used for?

are they used for first aid? can they be used for to replace trauma pads?

Answer:    "ABD pads" is often simply another identify for "trauma pads", and are generally 5"x9" or 8"x10" and ~1/2" thick. They are designed to be used alone or to stir on top of other dressings for wounds that need further material to stop any active bleeding. Larger dressings particular as "Multi-Trauma Dressings" are 10"x30" and 1"-2" thick, and are intended for larger wounds.
