The only time I've hear of doctor's doing anything was when my friends little brother broke his when he was 13 and it injured the growth plate - he have to be in a cast up to his hip for a broken pinky toe because if they didn't die it, it could grow out to the side and he might not walk normal..
But that be a wierd case...

Normally (i've done it 3 times) they just distribute you home limping. You have to stay off of it if you can and agree to it heal - put ice on it (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) for the first couple days. That's it.

perchance they can buddy tape two toes together, but that would probably be more painful.

ive broken my toe before. catch some gauz pasd and med. tape, and tape the broken toe, and the one subsequent to it together, but separate them with the gauz, because you can get blood poisoning.
