What does oxycodone do?

After I got my 2 wisdom teeth removed they give me some medicine and one of them is oxycodone. I have to bring it 4-6 hours as needed.
After I take it I feel insipid, tired, and drowzy.
Is it suppose to do that?

Answer:    it helps with the agony. Yes you will feel tire, drowsy and probably a little loopy too. It is a immense duty pain med so yes it will do that to you. Some people who rob it want that feeling so that's why they take it to seize that feeling of being "high" instead of the instrument it is supposed to be used which is for helping with pain. .
Yes, it's supposed to do that. Opiate receptors surrounded by the brain ease pain, lull emotional attachment, and slow the central disconcerted system.

Everyone seems to think you'll receive addicted just from taking the prescribed dose. If I could roll my eyes over the internet I would.
You're lucky it's not doing you any worse. That stuff is highly addictive. Take some extra strength tylenol or tylenol 3 if you own it and use an ice pack. I don't think your sense teeth being pulled should take that much of a misery killer. Yes

Its an opiate - a codeine derivative and can be highly abused..
