What is designed by malunion of toe and what is the treatment.?
I met with an accident ultimate month which broke my toe fingers. The neck of all the fingers except the first and end were broken. The last finger have a hair line fracture. I could not grasp that it is a fracture. Immediately after the fracture I started my two wheeler and came back to house within the same condition. There was strain in toe. I walked within the same way for three days. On the third hours of daylight I took Xray and consulted MS ortho who applied POP on the leg upto knee. He suggested rest for one month. Yesterday on the twenty second day of the fluke I took Xray of the toe from two different angles. The report states apart from other things a ".malunion". My querry is What is malunion. How and why it happens. was in attendance any carelessness by the doctor. Is there any procedure which be not done. I am thinking that I should have gone to the street side bone setter instead of consulting the MS or tho. Whether treatment depends on the degree of malunion save what is the other option.
