What should I expect from donating blood?

I signed up to donate blood at my school on tuesday. I was kinda surprised they lowered the freight requirements, but i can do it now. I weight 102 and I'm 5.3 [almost 5.4]. I hear my friend passed out and she weights more than me, so I'm kinda worried. Is there anything I should do before I truly donate blood? And will I pass out if I do? D: I'm kinda nervous.

I hold injured my shoulder at work. Am I entitled to receive full wages?

Hi! I started giving blood when I be a junior in HS. I weighed a bit more than you did (around 130). Let me speak about you. Many times (not all) giving blood is a bit mental. I've seen small people pass blood with no issue and I've seen football players go past out. That being said, there are plentiful factors that go into it.

My counsel to you is: (1) Don't stress...it means you are more likely to hold issues like passing out. Try to stay still. Many people do this everyday and it really isn't a big deal. (2) If you do discern faint (like your vision is closing contained by on you or you see stars), tell your donation technician (is that what they call them), without beating about the bush. They will stop the flow and elevate your legs. Usually the bed you donate on has a thingy that lets them do it instantly.

Best of luck to you.its a good thing you're doing.

What is this nouns discomfort?

Whether you elapse out depends on who you are. The first time I gave blood, the only entity who got dizzy and sick weighed roughly 200lbs.

I am surprised they lowered the weight requirement. However, i started giving blood in my teens (I be heavier than you but not by much) and I actually liked the emotion. Kind of floaty. My advice is to drink lots of water within the few days before you donate, take an aspirin or two an hour since you're scheduled to give (it thins your blood and make the donation process faster) and remember to eat the cookie and juice after.

You should be fine. However, race respond in different ways, but the side efffects are generally mild and move about away after a day or two.

My youngest is have frequent hours of darkness terror!?

I have donated blood alot of times. I enjoy never passed out, I usually don't even get weak. Just relax, what is really the worst entity that could happen. You must have have a good reason to want to donate, so just don't worry. The ppl that work at the donation centers know what they are doing, they do it every afternoon. Let them know what your concerns are and they will watch you closely. They may even hold your hand through the together process. Good luck. I figure if Jesus can donate his blood for me then I can do one and the same for my fellow man, woman or child.

When I stir to sleep , rouse up, or I am tired ,I bring jerks& twitches?Does anyone know what might be the wreak?

I would say eat a obedient breakfast or whatever meal comes past the donation time. I think that was my problem, I ate a small breakfast up to that time I donated. I was ok until almost the end when I feel like I was going to totally go past out. They put some cold towels on my head (and they were ICE cold towels) and I be ok. I also kicked my legs to revive the circulation. Make sure you drink plenty of water afterwards. The bloodmobile people will probably narrate you that.

How to concur worrying?

Donating blood is a great thing to do. One donation can help up to 10 citizens. Get plenty of sleep, eat a good suppertime. Talk to the people who are doing it, let them know that this is your 1st time & that you're anxious - they will help you through it.
