What to do when stomach-ache meds stop working?

I had my second shoulder surgery July 25. It involved restitching the rotater cuff. removing a loose anchor in my humerus and replacing it near a longer metal one, and removing a bunch of scar tissue. My first shoulder surgery was two years ago. I've also have numerous other surgeries. And my pain meds have stopped working. What do I do? I'm afraid that my doctor will deduce I'm simply abusing them, when in certainty I take them exactly as prescribed. Should I just tough it out, or is nearby another type of medication I should request? To be perfectly honest, I'm afraid of doctors! Any doctors out there who thinking to comment?

Answer:    I'm definitely not a doctor, so I'm speaking from life experiences of myself and others.

It's possible you hold developed tolerance to the current medication, or your pain is getting worse. You're doctor could try others on you.

If you're in a great deal of pain, get a referral to a misery specialist. They're frequently anesthesiologists. Phone them anonymously and ask if they treat pain with opioids. Many, copious do not. If they do opioid therapy, call a few days subsequent and make an appointment.

Don't go contained by there saying you want a bunch of drugs. They'll consider that drug seeking behavior - implication you're an addict. Be honest and tell the doctor what you're taking have stopped working, what you've tried in the past and that you're enlarge to try something else. Be specific about where your strain is, how bad it is, etc. Keep a pain/symptom diary if you have to.

The American Academy of Pain Management have a lot of good information on their site, including a detail of doctors. Please check out their site. Here's the link: http://www.aapainmanage.org/

Ummm..some people resort to marijuana, because it works for tough anguish when other things stop working. And I mean like you hold tried *everything* Like cancer patients. I'm not sure you will agree with my suggestion here, but I AM trying to help.

The downfall to this is that the stuff on the street works better for warfare pain, as opposed to Dr. prescribed "medical marijuana".

Also, enjoy you discussed cortizone or "gold" shots with your doctor yet?

:::::::Peering down at somebody:::::::::::I bet nation in her kind of headache do not operate heavy machinery, or are even able to comfortably step to work, DUH::::::::::::::::::.
Tell him. My father hadd the same problem. Just like anything your body buidls up an imperviousness to it. The doc will put you on different pain meds most likely instead of uping your dosage becaus your body will still reject it. Don't verbs. It happens when people own been on a medication for a long period of time. Im sure pot is without fault safe to take beside pain meds. Just like alcohol, right? Maybe you could even operate calorific machinery while on all 3! Can't see anything going wrong there.

Alternatively, you could other talk to your Doctor about trying a DIFFERENT benevolent of pain killer. That track it doesn't seem like you are trying to receive your hands on more drugs than you need..
Altho you reason your doc. won't understand they will completely. Your body naturally builds up immunity to drugs like that, and I'm sure you're doc if fully aware of that. Just doc to him/her about your problem, and they'll any give you a different prescription or let you pocket more, but don't do anything without talking to your doc. first. you should ask for a stronger stomach-ache med.. all the doctors have to do is audition your blood and they can tell if ou have be abusing them or yo can take the bottle to him to show him that you hold been taking them right... sometimes when you have taken them for fairly a while, you seem to get immuned to them and u inevitability something stronger... im bery sure that he will understand... good luck.
usually when u don't hold pain meds ur body is used to the natural method of healling itself...when u start using them too much ur body heals but then go and get used to it to then it thinks that this is it's colloquial way so then u bring back a stronger and stonger meds....and they all wil not work
u might wanna ask a doctor about ur problem -_-

You own built up a tollerance to them... you need to stop taking them for a while if you want them to work. I would mention this to your doctor and see if he will change your calligraphy... tell him your issue! See your Doctor and get counseled. He /she might supply you another medication(stronger).
Talk to a medical professional. Take another..
Nobody can write you a prescription from here.

Take Tylenol..
Go back to the doctor...Duh! go to the doctor and explain it to him if he don't do any point i would get a secondopinion
.
Best thing to do is to see a Doctor and see what he can prescribe. morphing.
turn to the doctor
