What will the doctor do?

I slammed my pinky toe into the door. My toe turned purple and is swelling up. It hurts if I put my foot in a certain place. My mom call the doctor and the doctor said to tape it, but before I cartridge it I should soak it. What happens if it doesn't do anything? can the doctor do something?

Not much can be done about a broken toe. You can video it if it makes it feel better, you put on some thongs and fashion sure you don't tap it against anything.

Painful foot?

As long as the toe is not dislocated, or the bone is not shattered or broken through the skin, then tape two toes together is about the only article that even the hospital will do for a fracture.
The second toe will act like a splint to the injured toe. Other treatment would include rime to the area and rest the foot in an elevated position.
It could pocket about six or more weeks to heal.

I would push for an xray first though to make sure that you are not dealing with something more serious than a simple fracture.

You could soak it contained by cold water to numb it and than tape it to the toe subsequent to it. After if you want you can put an ice pack on it. Take some pain killer and try not to bump your foot on anything. The doctor can't help you.

They can't really do anything other than what they already told you it will give somebody a lift a month to feel better. Wear your regular shoes even though it hurts more. I made the mistake of wearing sandals and they didn't give me the support that I needed and shoes don't fit properly very soon. I feel your pain to be precise no picinic.

Well i just Broke my Pinky toe the other day by slamming it into the wall. Their is nil a Doctor can do. It will get better over time but you are supposed to tape your pinky to your subsequent toe. It will hurt for a while but it should heal up. You can't expect it to feel better over hours of darkness though

Well I hate to tell you this but they want do anything for a toe injury similar to this. They can give you pain pills though and if it is hurting phone call the doctor it is well worth it and no need hurting when you don't enjoy to.

The usual treatment for 5th toe fracture is to 'Buddy Tape' it to the adjacent toe.. It should feel better surrounded by a week.
