What's The Deal With Vicodin and Oxycontin?
I fractured my back and I was first put on Vicdodin for stomach-ache. When it would not help, they switched me to Oxycontin 20mg four times a day. This still is not helping the spasm.
I have had nation make comments about how strong this medication is and that I should not be taking it. I cannot understand what the big deal is. It does not even backing a headache let alone my back strain.
So why are all the drug addicts wanting these pills so weakly? Why are they so controlled and why are they so overrated? If they cannot help my pain, and I cannot even explain to I have taken one, what are they doing for those paying big bucks for them.
I have stopped taking them as prescirbed because I did not want to become addicted to have to take them. But as for how they react on me, I cannot recount I have even taken a pill. I might as well hold taken a asprin? They cannot be that strong so why all the hoopla?
Answer: the "hoopla" has zilch to do with the amount of pain control they pass. It is the highly addictive quality and the euphoric illustrious that causes the controversy. I doubt you got the lofty at the dosage you were on. 20mg of oxycontin is quite low. Being timed release you be only taking about the equivalent of one partially a percocet at a time. Even if you chewed it or it was not timed release it really wasn't enough of a dose to obtain anyone high. Especially if you'd been taking Vicodin so be opiate tolerant. This is the problem, the high doses it takes to find that illusive big for addicts and the high doses required for headache control if that is why you take it. For addequate distress control the dosage goes up and up and up. When I stopped taking it I was on 2- 40 mg pills three times a daytime and no, I never got any high hunch after the first increased dose.
Just consider yourself lucky you never found out what the appeal is and got off of it.
I HAVE to comment on the remark that taking pills cause diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is caused by diet and/or genetics. I own been a chronic pain forgiving for 15 years, on large doses of narcotics and other meds and have a consistant BG reading of 100. My husband who never took any genus of pills now has type 2 diabetes and even next to a new strict diet, insulin shots and an exercise program his BG ranges from 65 to280. As far as diabetes goes drinking cola is more inclined to bestow it to you than taking pills.

I don't think it's so much the strength of the pain reliever so much as it is the reality that Oxycontin has killed various many people from overdosing. Both the drugs you mentioned are impressively harmful to your body. I knew someone that took Vicodin day by day and ended up going into a diabetic coma...she eventually came out of it but immediately has diabeties for life (the doctor said it be from taking the pills every day as she never had this disease previously)Irritation, Tired, Can't Concentrate?
Maybe they requirement to increase the strength of these pills, I have taken both after knee surgery and they do work, beside the vicodin I had ES (extra strength) 650mg. and the Oxycontin was 30 mg. Go support to your doctor and tell him it is not working and that you want him to adjust your dosage. Hope this help you.Just have a unpromising stomach smarting?
20 mg is a lower dosage, and its has to do with the process people take the pill, snorting the oxy will definately impart you different effects, but i do not suggest doing that. and honestly if you want a good medication, smoke marijuana, there is no better medication.Botox reaction in need have botox?
