Whats up near this unnatural twitch?

Almost everyday I get a strong twitch on my upper leg. Nothing I can do to stop it, it'll just go away by itself after a couple minutes. It's so impossible you can actually see my pants move when it happens, haha. Any design what's causing this or if it's a medical condition?
Answers:    Whew. You received some strange answers. Most "twitches" (technically they are called "Fasciculations") are caused by mineral deficiency (Magnesium, Calcium, and Potassium). These types of mineral deficiencies are very common today because of modern prompt food, junk food, processed food diets that are deficient in minerals.

If you are not consumption the recommended 5 to 9 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables and 3 servings of REAL whole grains every day, you are probably not good enough in Magnesium and Potassium. If you are not eating 3 servings daily of milk/cheese/dairy products, plus the vegetables noted above, you are probably not good enough in Calcium. Nuts (e.g. almonds) are also excellent sources of minerals.

Recommendations:

First, correct your diet, if needed.

Second, start taking high quality mineral and vitamin supplements. Magnesium citrate (300 - 500 mg Magnesium/day), Calcium citrate (600 - 800 mg Calcium/day) and Potassium citrate (800 -1200 mg/day) would be a moral start - coupled with a quality multi-vitamin and mineral supplement (not junk-food supplements like Centrum and/or One-A-Day).

Also, be sure you are not defective in Vitamin D - 50% of the U.S. population is deficient at this time of the year!

Third, if this regimen does not improve your twitching after 30 days, wish appropriate medical advice to rule out more serious problems.

Best wishes and good luck.
