Why can't I crash down asleep/nap the track others do, even though I'm realllly tired?

Ok, don't get me wrong, I don't have a ton of trouble falling asleep. But I have found that even when I find only 4 hours of sleep, and I'm dead tired, I have a unyielding time taking a nap unless I know I have a 6 hour block. It's like I can't relax if I don't enjoy to go somewhere until 7pm...yet I have from 1pm-6pm to sleep...but for some reason..I just can't.
I see people who can so well drift in and out of sleep on their days off...and nap...why can't I? I hear everything! I'm starting to realize that this is a huge problem. Wearing earplugs is super self-conscious and makes me feel vulnerable to what's going on around me. I enjoy always had super alert senses. People think I'm a vampire pratically lol..but honestly it's ruining my interests when it comes to sleep.

I'm only 23..but it seems to have gotten REALLY impossible over the last few years. I am very active..and don't consume caffeine etc. I try sticking to a rota..I'm definitely extremely tired..but I can't seem to just obtain those 8 solid horus that I need and feel rested. I think this have contributed a lot to my weight gain as well...I come across to eat a LOT when I am tired. HELP :(
