I broke my back 5 years ago and have a really complex time working. I've been consistently going to physical therapy but the truth is, I can't sit down a desk for 8 hours or be on my feet that long without stretching out and lay down awhile...

But, I was 20 when they rejected me, and when I asked them what I should do for work, they sent me to a workshop for sales training...resembling, thanks a bunch...

So, do they discriminate on age? Because I know people like mad less disabled then me surrounded by their 30's on social security. Anyone had similar experiences?

Broke your spinal column? I assume you mean you fractured a vertebra? If so then they will turn you down, because as you stated you cannot sit for 8 hours in need.
No they do not discriminate on age, but they know about medical conditions. Therefore what they are saying to you is, if you did some exercise, as surrounded by core strength, Pilate's, the muscles will hole your spine in correct alignment and then you would not hold a problem. You may think you know people deeply 'less' disabled then you on SS, but at the end of the morning, are those people telling you the truth? I hold a friend who had the same problem as you, fractured vertebra, solely she drove her car off the road? While within Hospital she saw the Psychiatrist who asked her why she tried to kill herself? She told me this and added 'Yeah like I imply as if I would try and kill myself? Swear they have nought better to do and then they messed the surgery up and I ended up with' and on it go. In fact the same story for several years and approaching a MUG I believed her! Why not she is a friend!
Then I had to go to Gyn Out-Patients Clinic at the Hospital and I attended. Large waiting room this be my first visit and I checked in. I notice other people arriving and having their blood taken, urine taken and individual weighed? Therefore I went up and asked if they looked-for me and they asked what Consultant I was under, I told them and they said 'No, we do this for Mr X Patients and you are not his Patient!' In walk my friend and before I could say 'Hi fancy get-together you' she was having her counterbalance, urine and sent for blood tests? Therefore I asked the person sitting subsequent to me what Mr X was and the answer Psychiatrist! So the Gynecological Clinic was running alongside the Psychiatric Clinic!! My friend arrived pay for saw me and came and sat for a chat. She sit as bold as brass and tried to tell me she was here for Gynecological, but get a red face when they called her, ahead of me for a different Consultant! In my experience not a soul ever tells 100% truth and more so if they have a Mental Illness, due to the stigma associated beside it! Best of Luck

I think you should go to a doctor and own them declare you handicap. Then you can take that to social financial guarantee.
