I'm 13.I had my first knee lock-up when my dad be waking me up for school one morning. When it locks-up it get stuck bent & I cant walk or move my knee. It solely lasted a couple of minutes. I started hacing them more often & they started becoming locked up longer & longer. But it other happens when I'm sitting down. When I'm sitting down & I turn to the left resembling to turn around without getting up it feels approaching half of my knee comes beside me & half of it doesn't.I have be to 2 doctors, had it x-rayed. 1 doctor said that my knee any has too much cartiliage or not enough. They said that my inside muscle of my leg isnt strong satisfactory to hold my knee cap within track. They didn't say how I could stop it. I don't think it will stop. The second one I had was within the last week of may. It was locked up for 4 hours.

Answer:    I own the same problem. My doctor said it was from insipid muscles holding your knee in. I be sent to Physical Therapy and I have been doing leg strengthening exercises. I simply started it so I don't know the results yet, but hopefully the condition will improve! Try doing some exercises for your legs. I don't know if it will work, but its other wortha shot. Get better.
