Why hold my shins started hurting adjectives of the sudden when I run?

For years, I run on the treadmill at full slope. But within the past month or so, my shins hold hurt so much when I run, that I've started having to lower the inclination. Why the sudden pain? I haven't started intake differently or doing anything else differently. What's up? And, what should I do? Should I tough out the pain and burn the calories, or lower the slope and ease the misery?
