Why when you rime you can't put it directly on your injury?
Any time i was told to ice my legs i other put ice wrapped with a towel. Why can't you put it directly on your leg. My guess would be that it would be to cold and hurt the injury more. i don't know. any back please
Answer: i'm assuming that if you put ice directly on it, it'll shock the injury too much. an example of this is a burn, because if you use ice you'll shock the burn and possibly disrupt it further. if it's an injury that involves inflammation, it's better to allow the inflamed area to adjust to the cooler temperature to some extent than just throwing something freezing onto it.
What can I do to relieve arm twinge?
You can. I'm in college and I play on one of our varsity team and we routinely need ice baths for a variety of injuries when there is swelling. RICE (Rest Ice Compression Elevation) is basically the procedure that's followed when a minor injury is sustained. If you're anyone told not to have ice come contained by contact with your injury and there is no broken skin, to be exact probably just because it's more comfortable that way for most relatives. I've found that it's better for the ice to be in contact to stop swelling. I hold to get my shins iced (I get shin splints) and the trainers primarily fill ziploc bags near ice, place them on the area, and wrap saran-wrap around it to maintain it secure so I can walk around. I rob the ice off after 20-30 minutes and it help a lot. That's typical treatment in sports medication.
