I visited my family doctor last week roughly speaking the symptoms I had been experiencing. She told me It sounds like I own carpal tunnel Syndrome. She gave me a wrist brace to wear. Although this helps keep movement to a minimum, the twinge can be extremely bothersome and keeps me from being able to get hold of work done at my job. I have tried ibprofuen and aleve for NSAIDs to reduce swelling of the median fortitude but it doesn't seem to do much of anything. Would it be beneficial for me to call the doctor and ask to prescribe something for the pain? Or is that not an chance with carpal tunnel?
Answers:    It all depends on your doctor and your history with them. If you enjoy not been getting pain meds from this doctor for every little ailment, then she will more than plausible help you out for a little while. If it starts to become a chronic pain, she will refer you to a specialist because most family circle doctors do not like to treat chronic pain patients because of the liability and and paperwork with the DEA. Usually doctors will prescribe pain tablets if it helps you overcome the pain. They usually depend on X-rays, MRI's, or CAT scans to determine the extent of destruction to your wrist. You may be required to see the Dr. rather than request they call in a letters. The longer the pain last, the harder it will be to treat/overcome the pain.
