My daughter who is now 5 1/2 have ear tubes put in when she be 14 months old. The right one fell out a couple of years ago but the not here one is still there and is deep-seated in the ear fairly than coming loose. We have have several ear infections even with the tubes surrounded by. After my daughters allergists looking in her ears while doing routine stuff she said we needed to see an ENT about the tube. So we wait a few weeks and got surrounded by with one. My daughter have been complaining for awhile that she couldn't hear from the departed one. So upon examining the ear he found that the tube is so full of wax and has entrenched in so it is almost approaching it is now countersunk. We did the audible range test the right ear she passed beside 100% the left ear she get a 94 % on. So it really does affect the hearing and according to the ENT purely leaving them can grounds permanent twist to the ear as well as the audible range. We will be going in to have surgery on the ear surrounded by February as well as she is have the tonsils and the adnoids removed because they are so bad as powerfully. So if they suggest it I would do it before she is too antiquated to really fight it, would also reccommend have the throught and nose looked and resembling us their doing it all at once. This is the chosen procedure to remove a tube that have outlived its use. Some if they are closer to the surface the doctor can just run in next to long tweezer and take it out beside no problems but after this long they don't just come out and it would be really raw to do it without putting them to sleep. The tweezer method is what they used on my son when his be there but geared up to be removed it had just been surrounded by 2 years.
Hope this helps and apt luck.

I thought they just eventually fell out, and they are occasionally replaced (new tubes) if they're needed.Don't know really.
