I suspect that if they be stored in a cool, dry, and depressing place they are probably still pretty effective. If stored surrounded by the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, they are important, but less so.
At any rate, you'll find out the difference if you want to use them, that's for sure and they don't work as well as they used to or not at adjectives.
Whether it be that or other medication that expired, it is best to flush it down the toilet. I have hear of people getting severely sick on old tablets.
If your in distress and that's all you own for it then I would try it, I cogitate the worst that could happen is it may not be affective and its individual about 6 mo old and that's not too bad but you might ask a pharmacist.
check w pharmacist but I agree that you may get a upright response from them still if they were properly stored. The military only just had released some studies on the efficiency of expired drugs. As I recall they found a stockpile of them and arranged to test it out if they really have degraded-I believe some were a yr or two over their exp date. The study showed most had a drastically good percentage of efficiency left, and they approved to use them based on that. You'd hold to do some research to corroborate this story but I'm fairly guaranteed of the basic belief that they do not become ineffective very soon after the date stated surrounded by general.
what would a doctor do for a hairline fracture?
We usually administer out samples up to 6 months after the expiration date from the physician's bureau I work at. While we give them out for that long, we speak about patients that they are good for up to 8-10 months after the expiration date. They MAY hold less effect, but surrounded by the end, they will not hurt you...at smallest not for pain patch. You'll see if they work....
