I tend to frequently rub Vicks under by snout, whether I am congested or not ( a few times daily). I have a bit of an addiction I deduce. (I used to have foremost sinus problems and used to need it but presently they are fixed but can't break the habit). Anyways the under the proboscis thing be something my mom always did, but presently am hearing it is unsafe and have also hear you can overdose from Vicks due to the camphor. Is this true and what happens within an overdose?

Also, any other Vicks addicts out within? Maybe we could start a support group. lol.

You have no worries unless you are doing this six or seven times a daylight. That would not be good for the bin liner of your nose. Just use it when you are truly conjested. I estimate you are just contained by the habit.

I too used to rub it under my antenna when I was little and have a cold, but if you read the side of the jar it says not to put it nearby. You are actually suppsed to rub it on your chest and from near breathe in the vapors . . . I don`t know you could use a substitute (that smells good! close to lip gloss or vaseline or something) so you can break the way. Never heard of this addiction :) but own heard of the nasal spray addiction. Best of luck.

A fitting idea is to read the sticky label on the jar or call a pharmacist. I expect Vicks is wonderful for a cold or sinus problem. I remember my mom would rub it on my feet when I have a cold and then reheat them by the fire. Felt so good. I give attention to also Vicks has a comforting smell, but I singular use it when I have a cold.
