It could be a few things. One-when this supposed friend (and I am assuming this was an catastrophe?) slammed your thumb in a locker and it cut it, it is possible that the bottle the severed. When the nerve is severed it cannot relay information of headache to the brain which then cause the sensation of pain.
Another explanation...congenital nouns. Do you normally consistency pain when injured? If you do, next this is not the case. Congenital nouns to pain is a in danger of extinction disorder of pain perception contained by which pain sensation is away from home from birth, with no other neurologic deficit. This is a very exceptional genetic disorder.
Most likely the cut severed the gall. If you continue to own swelling or numbness in the thumb you should go see your loved ones doctor and have it looked at.
Are you athletic, alive people enjoy a higher affliction threshold!
Depending on the location it could be that, the area basically doesn't have that abundant pain receptors that be damaged, if you enjoy feeling contained by the thumb now it's not credible you severed a nerve bundle. Superficial injuries are the most aching usually, but pain receptors are not evenly distributed, some areas own more than others. Pinch the skin at the point of your elbow for an example, no matter how easier said than done you pinch it won't hurt
