Car happenstance injury??

I was within a car catastrophe 3 days ago, and was hit on the front passenger side

Immediatly following, my chest hurt. i have a bruise and it hurts above my ribs. (yes, i have on my seat belt)
i go to the er and had lots of x rays done and the er doc said every item looked fine

however, when ever i put weight on my arms, my chest hurts and i hurt when i cough' is this due to basically being bruised?

probably just bruising, but do NOT sign anything that say you're medically ok from the other guy's insurance company until you feel better and are confident that you're fine. I did that once and next it got worse, not better and the isurance company wouldn't cover any further doctor's visit since I signed off that I be ok.

get a second belief from another doctor just to be sure,because if your hurting at hand is something wrong,dont wait jump for a second opinion

Most likely yes. Xrays will confirm if anything be broken and as they said, nothing be. Xray will not determine internal bruising, therefore, due to the impact, it's most credible minor bruising. If after a week it still hurts the same, consequently revisit your doctor.

The spasm came from you wearing the form belt. It will go away though.....If the doctors said everything looks fine after the x-rays, it should be fine, purely need time to make well the bruises.

it could be because the seatbelt pushed against your chest or if the upper air bag go off it hit you on the chest

Yes i conjecture it 's because of the accident .If the doctor's did an x-ray and every point is O.K i would not worry so much .But if it go on for a long time get a second inference.
