No, if you are sleeping and I shake you, you will wake up and become responsive. An unconsious individual will not.

About to have a epidural steroid injection...however still really hesitant-how bad does it hurt?

I asked a doctor that one on AllExperts. He said that when you are knocked out, you feel zilch, not even pain. Sleep is different, you be aware of pain when someone pokes a syringe in you.

The unconscious state is cause by head trauma, or drug/alcohol inducement. Sleeping is a state that you can be awakened from...when you are in the comatose state, you cannot be roused.

no it is not true. if you are asleep you can react to the world around you, only at a slower pace. If at hand was a fire surrounded by your house, you would wake up. But an unconcious character would just stay at hand.
