No involve to be embarrased, you would be surprised how many adults do this,,,,,, lately that no one admit it to anyone else.
You really should see your GP about it, he will also inform you how common it is.
But it requirements to be looked into. It could be as simple as you having a chill within your bladder or being a highly deep sleeper and not one able to rouse when your bladder is full. But it could be more serious and only a doctor can inform you that.
You should make a concious stab to not drink anything during the 2-3 hours before you step to bed, and also ensure you go to the toilet end thing in the past bed to ensure the bladder is as empty as it can be. If you still damp the bed after this then it is not a short time ago your living habbits that are causing it.

plastic sheets help,hope you sleep alone!It sounds like you own the same problem that my daughter have - There is a condition where the sleeper is contained by such a deep sleep that the innate mechaisim for waking next to a full bladder simply doesn't work and then the bladder have to empty its self to avoid sprain due to pressure.
It could also be a sign of a medical problem such as urinary tract infection or diabetes.
There are a couple of options for you - The first is to procure a undersheet that sets off a vibrate pad underneath your pillow the moment it feels any moisture.
Or simply obtain a waterproof below sheet
Or ensure that you wait until the fundamentally last moment up to that time using the loo before you walk to bed.
Either way I would voice go to your doctor and don't be embrassed by it as he / she would own seen loads of associates with simular problems
