Sounds a lot resembling a pilonidal cyst, perhaps even a pilonidal abscess. If it is at the top of your intergluteal cleft, or as you christen it, your a-s crack then I'm 99% sure that's what it is. If it is down close to your anal pipe then it is something entirely different (perianal abscess).

Should you run see a doctor? Yep! If it is a pilonidal abscess it will only grasp worse until it either ruptures or you become septic, run into septic shock...and then it ruptures.
The treatment: Antibiotics alone RARELY, RARELY work. If it is an abscess, something like the only piece that will work is to - as drastic as this sounds - cut it open and drain the pus, afterwards let it make well from the inside out.
