Yes, this happen to me all the time. Midwives, nurses or doctors adjectives had difficulty getting blood out of my vein. They usually managed after the fourth attempt and usually manage to get a short time out of my hand (which hurts!).Some individuals just own tiny veins but I deem it helps to relax a bit (easier said than done when you see the needle coming at you!!) a moment ago before the jab- thats what i be told anyway as i always get worked up before the push and this always made it more difficult.

I hold that problem all the time! You can't see the vein in my arm,and they're far below the surface. Unfortunately for me,I hold to have blood test quite regularly to check my epilepsy med levels and my thyroid levels-not to mention the diabetes test from time to time as it runs in my nearest and dearest. I end up near bruised arms looking like a junkie!

I'm not saying this is true but if you are overweight it is habitually difficult to get blood . It's because of extra podginess in overlying tissues nought to do with colourless veins and stuff. I would agree though with the sole purpose 2 attempts should be made by one person because the blood taker become more agitated because they are failing so setting themselves up to fail. I have be taking blood for years but still sometimes fail and miss the test onto our phlebotomist. She does in the same way if she fails.If the nurse be telling no lies and could'nt find one consequently your an alien from outer space and your blood is green, iether that or the nurse was useless and give you some spam to save her dignity. I distribute blood on a regular basis and i own never experienced that, was the nurse infantile with little experience, lots of question i have to ask you to subtract to the correct answer

Some people's vein dont stand out, my mother and I both have that problem, doctors and nurses help yourself to several attempts to find a vein when taking blood. Its common.And Im not overweight or dehydrated as the other society suggest.

You probably have wide veins.Also only just because she is a nurse doesn't mean she is indisputable good at a blood draw.That is why they enjoy people that is to say all they do.So don't fly to conclusions that something might be wrong with you.It have happened to me several times.It happens to me seriously too. My veins move around when they stir to stick it. They usually have to use a butterfly for better control because the bigger needles tend to push it aside instead or piercing it.

I enjoy the same problem. I don't do blood test often,but when I do, it's other the same: they hold problem to find it. And always report to me that my veins are undersized. During that I feel self-conscious, and have bruises afterwords. It's nought to be worried about, it's a short time ago your veins are close to that. This happens to me adjectives the time. Once I went to hospital for some blood test on one occasion and it be not unlike getting blood out of a stone!!! They tried several times in one arm, a couple of times in the other, even tried using veins surrounded by my hands and still no luck! They kept prodding my arms to try and find a capillary, but couldn't seem to consistency one.In the end they resorted to giving me Haribo's, some biscuits as they thought it be due to low blood sugar. They did manage to hold the sample after that, so I don`t know it's down to that.
I also have a idea it could be down to poor circulation. I've always suffered next to chilblains which is also attributed to poor circulation. It's really not anything to verbs about, it's lately a pain!!!
