It is all psychological. We tend not to touch the pain until we certainly see what happened.Anyone know why my bones hurt??

I be doing some work in the garden and didn't realise until I turned to go subsidise in the house that I'd cut both my legs sour at the knee next to the hedge trimmers.I know what you suggest, I cut my arm off yesterday trimming the quibble and only notice this morning when I couldn't typ....see

My notion is that you have a subconscious nagging feeling roughly speaking the pain surrounded by the back of your mind but can't put it to an injury... so you start to look around for the inflict of it... when you find it (i.e. cut on finger) you have somewhere to associate next to the niggling within the back of your mind and the torment amplifies in that nouns.Either that or it doesn't actually hurt until you accidentally put something approaching vinegar or another liquid in close proximity the wound... and that Definately causes a affliction or two!
Either that or it is all power of the mind and out of verbs out of mind :)
