the backbone pain within your muscles is from you not knowingly compensating for the injury to your discs. once a disc is undermined, the only solution is surgery. it is possible that one of your discs is bulging and pressing on your sciatic nerve- which can lead to mild to severe pain to radiate down your legs.

i have have this problem myself for many MANY years... my L4L5 and L5S1 discs are blown completely out... i function on affliction pills, muscle relaxers and anti inflammitory drugs... the only article i take continually is the antiinflammitory drugs (like ibuprophen)
