A medical assistant is not licensed to administer meds.

How come you sometimes grain like you own to go pee, but when u try u in reality don't have to?

by medical assistant I presume that you niggardly medication aide. if this is the case afterwards yes in most areas within are limitations on what a medication aide can administer. Here in Texas they cannont administer any inhalers, nebulizar medications, (albuterol, atrovent, pulmocort, xopenex) nor can they do anything pertaining to a plunger. Only licensed nurses or doctors are allowed to give shots. As to whether or not they are officially able to administer psychotropic medicatons it depends on the state where they are licensed as well as the facility within which they are employed. Medication aides in a couple of the services that I have visit and been a cut of do allow the medication aide to administer psychotropic drugs under the supervision of a licensed professional.
